Two years later, Yongnuo finally releases the 85mm f/1.8 AF lens for Nikon F Mount

The Yongnuo 85mm f/1.8 lens was originally spoken way back in 2016, along with the announcement of the Yongnuo 100mm f/2. The 85mm f/1.8 for Canon EF did come, eventually, and then all mention of an F mount version disappeared, almost as if Yongnuo never intended to actually release it. But now, the lens suddenly appears to have popped up on eBay.

  • Focal length: 85mm
  • Mount: Nikon F
  • Format: Full Frame
  • Maximum aperture: f/1.8
  • Optics: 9 elements in 6 groups
  • Minimum focus distance: 85cm
  • Filter diameter: 58mm
  • Dimensions: 81 x 79.5mm
  • Weight: 460g

The new F mount version of the lens is available through an eBay listing claiming itself to be the official Yongnuo eBay store for $219. That’s a little under half the regular retail of the Nikon 85mm f/1.8G AF-S. As to how the quality compares, only time will tell, but there are a few sample images shot with the lens by photographer Arkadii Shapoval on Nikon Rumors.
