Instagram likes Reels. It likes them so much that it turns all your videos into them, and now it lets you cross-post them to Facebook too.  From now on, if you use both social media apps, you can post your Reels directly to both of them.

Along with cross-posting between the apps, some other changes are coming to Instagram as well. And yes, of course, they’re Reels-related. But if you’ve started gathering likes and comments through the TikTok-esque short videos, you may actually like these.

Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri announced the changes in a video:

Mosseri first mentions those “Add yours” stickers that serve as a prompt to post your own Story. Well, they’re now in Reels as well. Your account will be credited in the sticker, which comes in handy if you happen to start a trend and get your 15 minutes of fame. But if you’re not comfortable with it, you can turn it off.

The second and the third update are connected. The second change is the one I mentioned in the title: cross-posting your Instagram Reels to Facebook. This has been available for Stories and Posts so far, and it comes in handy if you use both social media apps. You’ll also get access to Facebook Reels Insights now, so you can see how well your Reel performs there in addition to Instagram. One thing’s for sure: it will perform better than photos.

I think most everyone is ready to shift to a different platforms now but one doesn’t exist that’s worth the shift. I also think that different people like their media in different formats and not everyone is into videos and reels but it’s how they plan to get more ads feed to people eyeballs and thus it’s more about money than it is about having a service that people actually want. It’s interesting how different media’s when suffering become more ad ladden look at magazine/newspapers, how the quantity of ads increased, look at TV, etc….
    Ramble ramble…
