Not just for drones anymore – PolarPro announces new DSLR, mirrorless & cinema lens filters

When it comes to shooting photos or video on drones, it quickly becomes apparent that filters are key to getting the best footage. And the first name that springs to mind for drone filters is PolarPro. They’ve pretty much been the leading company for drone camera filters since they started taking to the air.

Today, though, PolarPro announce that they’re expanding their range to include larger lenses for DSLRs, mirrorless and cinema cameras with the new QuartzLine series of filters. It looks like their whole range for drones has been scaled up to fit the larger lenses in a variety of sizes.

As well as the standard range of UV, Circular Polariser, ND, and Polarised ND filters we’ve come to expect from PolarPro, we also see a couple of new options, too. There are 10 & 16 stop straight up ND filters, as well as a 10 stop ND/PL. They’re available in 37mm, 46mm, 67mm, 77mm and 82mm diameters, and there are, of course step up ring options if those don’t match your lenses.

Each of the QuartzLine filters features Neutral Density Coating to reduce the light by the desired amount without shifting colour (a big potential problem, especially once you start hitting that 10 stop mark). An anti-reflective coating helps to minimise ghosting and internal reflection.

Unique among filter manufacturers, PolarPro leverages its new advanced coating technologies to eliminate any color cast or color inconsistency throughout the spectrum.

From a more physical standpoint, anti-scratch and hydrophobic coatings help to protect your filter, and prevent weather from ruining your shot. A brass ring construction also offers a more durable construction than aluminium while still offering a light weight.

The filters range in price from $59.99 to $249.99 depending on the size and type of filter you want. Not surprisingly, the most expensive is also the one that sounds the most exciting to play with, the 10 stop ND/PL.

They’re scheduled for release on May 15th, and you can find out more and pre-order now on the PolarPro website.
