Don’t like selfie stick? Check out a new gadget from its inventor

The selfie stick is an insanely popular gadget, yet the very thought of it makes many people cringe. It’s often a subject of mockery and bans, although some artists have used it in their work creatively. Well, if you hate the darn stick that shows in the photos, the latest gadget from the selfie stick inventor might be the solution.

If you hate selfie stick, perhaps you’ll like Selfie Stick-It. I just love the word game in the name, by the way. This gadget lets you have your hands free when taking photos with a smartphone, and most importantly – no stick will be visible in the photo.

Selfie Stick-It is a kind of a phone case with a suction cup. It lets you attach your phone onto any smooth surface such as glass, mirror, monitor, marble…You get the point. When you mount the phone, you’ll need a Bluetooth remote control to snap a photo. You get it with the case, and it works on both Android and iOS devices.

I have to admit I find this product a bit silly, especially considering the infomercial-style ad. Also, I can’t help but imagine what happens if the suction cup doesn’t stick properly. Still, I think it’s better than the selfie stick: it doesn’t show in the photo and doesn’t annoy everyone around you. So if I really had to choose, I’d rather go with this one.

So if you hate the selfie stick but find the Selfie Stick-It kinda cool, you can get it here for $25 CAD (around $20 USD).
