You can never be too old for Disney and Lego. And when the two get together, we get something truly magical: a Disney Tribute Camera Lego set. Celebrating 100 years of Disney, this set contains, among other things, a remarkable Lego replica of an old cinema camera that you’ll definitely want on your shelf.

What Disney Lego camera kit contains
The Walt Disney Tribute Camera is, as the name suggests, an homage to Disney and the 100th anniversary of the studio. The star of the kit is definitely the film camera with the film reel shaped like the number 100. The best part is an adorable film strip that wraps around the camera. It features classic Disney movies, all recreated with Lego bricks. You’ll see The Jungle Book, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland, and more. Honestly, I’m in love with the concept!
The set also comes with a black and white display stand that showcases Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse figures, just like they looked in their first appearance in the 1928 classic, Steamboat Willie. There’s also the first figurine ever of Walt Diynew himself. You’ll also get some new, special bricks to build your own Disney characters like Bambi and Dumbo. Overall, the kit contains 811 bricks to play with.
Other Lego camera creations
We’ve seen several Lego cameras over the years, like this Olympus OM-1 replica, this Nikon F3, this miniature Leica M, or this Hasselblad 503CX. Quite a lot of functional gear can be made from Lego too, such as a follow focus rig, a camera slider, a fully functional pinhole camera, and even a working lens. The Disney tribute set also isn’t the first set of this kind – we recently featured another set dedicated to iconic landscape photographer Ansel Adams.
Disney Lego kit price and availability
The Disney Lego kit still hasn’t hit the shelves, but it will later this year. According to 9to5toys, the Walt Disney Tribute Camera is set to launch in the official Lego store on September 1 at the price of $99 USD. However, it seems to already be available on the French website Fnac, if you really can’t wait for September.
