With both GoPro and DJI announcing their new small flagships (can you say small flagship?), Yuneec’s new drone announcements kinda went under the radar.
Rather than making a full fledged, full capacity drone, Yuneec madea small “selfie” drone – The Breeze 4k – that is limited in features, but has a low price tag.
Yuneec is known for the big drones Typhoon series, but wanting to venture into the more consumer market, they made Breeze.
It’s a small drone with a built in camera. It uses Wi-fi so it is limited to 100 meters away from the pilot (on a good clear day). On the other hand, it needs no remote, has a 4k camera and should be pretty safe indoors.
To get to the low price tag, Yuneec took more than the radio away. There is no GPS, it uses optical pathfinding, and has only 12 minutes of flight time.
On the other hand, it supports 4K (with a similar chipset as the GoPro 5, and some fancy flying modes.
Is the breeze ready to compete with other drones, or is it just a gimmick, time will tell.
The Breeze 4K is already available in stores for $499.00.
