Today, YouTube unveiled a new custom blurring tool to its online video editing platform Creator Studio. This new tool lets you select an object to blur and keep it blurred throughout the entirety of the video.
The new tool is located under the Enhancements portion of Creator Studio. Simply choose the custom blurring option, let Creator Studio do its work and review the resulting footage to ensure the blurred object stays blurred during the length of the clip.
Even once it’s created its tracking motion, you can go in and resize it for various parts of the video, a nice feature for when inappropriate or sensitive information isn’t static in size.
Having the ability to do this within YouTube itself will save a great deal of time in more complex editing programs, where many times you have to custom keyframe the blurs or otherwise track the movement of something.
