In a coy announcement about a new film stock from the Harman Technology brand, Harman Photo, comes word that you have a lunch date on March 5th with a yet-to-be-named emulsion. Yes, the maker of the Phoenix brand of film might be releasing a new film for 2026.

Illustrated by a single image on the Harman Photo Facebook page, that features red- and blue-colored triangles, comes the statement: “Time to switch things up!” Furthermore, this “switch” is timed for midday on March 5th.

Film is Rising

Accompanying the image, is the question: Are you ready to ‘switch’ it up? Along with the image and this vague question are the tags: #comingsoon, #harmanphoto, and #harmanswitch.

Phoenix film
Harman Photo’s previous film, Phoenix, was well received by photographers.

Rampant speculation suggests that this new emulsion might be named “Azure.” Additionally, Azure is thought to be a 125 ISO film. This film speed selection would be a curious choice for supplementing the already fine-grain 200 ISO Phoenix II film.

Regardless, you now have a lunch date for March 5, 2026. Be sure to return to DIYP for the official “Harman Switch” announcement.

Enjoy.
