We’ve had enough of this monkey business regarding who owns what photos when a primate presses the shutter. It’s time for a much more fun news piece on monkeys and photography.
Specifically, we’re talking about Chloe, a 46-year-old chimpanzee at the Oregon Zoo who became a filmmaker for the day when she was given a GoPro camera.
Given to her as part of an enrichment program for the primates, Chloe quickly became enamored with the camera, bringing it around the enclosure and showing the outside world what it’s like in the life of a zoo animal.
Zookeeper Colleen Reed says in the video, ‘it was able to give us a really, really unique opportunity to see what she does during the day and what she actually enjoys. These behaviors are things that keepers see every day, but never before from this perspective.’
Not only did Chloe handle the GoPro, she also learned to turn the device on and off.
Oregon Zoo has shared a list of 5 ways to help out chimps. Head on over and find out more.
