Drones are becoming more affordable with each new generation, but not for one second does that mean they’re cheap.

And that’s precisely what makes watching this DJI Inspire get taken out by a jet ski so painful.

It’s just one of the many accidents we’ve seen and one of many to come, but this one in particular sticks out for its sheer brutality. Not only was the drone taken down, but it also happened to be over water when it was hit by a jet ski that had just taken flight off a wave.

There are almost no details behind the circumstances that lead to the drone getting crushed. All we know is that the below video was shared on Facebook by New Zealand photographer Guy Mac.

Be forewarned. This footage isn’t for the faint of heart.

JETSKI vs DRONE

Who knows, maybe this accident could’ve been prevented with the new front-facing sensors in DJI’s new Phantom 4 drone.
