Nikon: you can try the Nikon Z50 at home for a month, then keep or return it

The Nikon Z50 was recently announced and started shipping last month. If you’re still having second thoughts whether it would be a camera for you, here’s a great chance to try it out. Nikon USA has started the Yellow Program which allows you to try the Z50 for a whole month before making a final decision. If you like it, you can keep it. But if not – you can return it after 30 days and get a full refund.

So, how does it work? Well, first you need to buy the Nikon Z50 via the Nikon Store and pay the full price for it. You can choose between buying the body only, a kit with one lens, or a kit with two lenses. Nikon will ship the camera free of charge, and your 30-day trial period starts from the day you receive it.

If you are happy with the camera after one month, you can keep it. But if you wish to return it, simply ship it back to Nikon (make sure that it’s in like-new condition). You will receive a free return shipping label to return the camera and you’ll get a refund of your purchase price. Nikon will also cover the expense of you shipping the camera back. If you need any help with the camera, you’ll have Nikon support available at 1-800-645-6687 on weekdays between 9 AM and 8 PM EST.

It’s also worth noting that the Yellow Program is currently only limited to the USA and only available through the Nikon Store. Interestingly enough, the program is pretty much the same as Amazon’s return policy. In most countries, you have the right to return the product within 30 days, and Amazon will issue a full refund plus cover the shipping expenses. It doesn’t apply to the UK though, because there you can only return an unopened product. So, I believe that it would be awesome if Nikon would launch the Yellow Program in the UK.

Still, if you live in the US and you’d rather buy directly from Nikon, you can join the Yellow Program and get your Z50 for a 30-day trial. Keep in mind that there’s a deadline, as the program ends on 31 March 2020.
