A new collectible release in Hong Kong is leaning into nostalgia for analog gadgets while wrapping it in compact digital functionality. The latest collaboration between 7 Eleven and New Balance is themed “Rewind to FUN,” introducing a Mini Camera designed for everyday carry.
This product draws heavily from retro visual language while positioning themselves as wearable accessories rather than traditional electronics.
Mini Camera
The Mini Camera is designed as a compact device that can be clipped onto keys, bags, or worn as a necklace using an included silver clasp or metal chain. It is sold in blind boxes and comes in four colorways: Classic Grey Orange, Bold Pink, Army Green, and a Special Purple Blue edition.
Despite its small size, the device supports photo capture, video recording, and audio recording within a single unit. It outputs images at up to 1920 by 1080 resolution with a 1.6 megapixel sensor.

Users can adjust pixel settings and apply one of 25 built-in filters available across both photo and video modes, reinforcing its casual, stylized shooting approach rather than aiming for high fidelity imaging.
A motion detection feature adds another layer of automation in video mode.
When enabled, recording starts when movement is detected and stops after roughly 10 seconds of inactivity. This is designed to reduce unnecessary clips and conserve storage, especially for short, spontaneous moments.
The camera supports 64GB to 128GB storage cards and charges via a Type C connection. It uses a built-in rechargeable battery and ships with a clasp and chain, although no memory card is included.
The device measures approximately 5.7 by 2.5 by 2 centimeters and weighs around 24 grams, placing it firmly in the category of wearable tech rather than conventional compact cameras.

Availability and Redemption Details
The Mini Camera is available exclusively in Hong Kong 7 Eleven stores through a limited promotion.
From June 3 to July 3, 2026, customers can redeem the item using four FunStamps plus HKD 168. An alternative redemption method for members runs in the same period, requiring 8,800 points plus HKD 128.
Each unit is distributed as a blind box, meaning the design is randomly assigned at purchase.
Other Toy Cameras
The Mini Camera arrives amid a wider wave of compact, novelty focused imaging devices that prioritize portability and experience over technical precision.
One example is the Yashica Funtastic keychain camera, a wearable digital camera that continues the trend of turning photography into a pocket sized, collectible object.
Another related product category is the Camp Snap screenless camera, which removes the rear display entirely to encourage more intentional shooting and a simplified, film-like experience.

This design choice reflects a growing interest in devices that limit immediate feedback in order to change how users engage with photography.
Earlier toy camera releases such as Charmera-styled devices have also explored blind box formats and retro inspired aesthetics, treating the camera less as a precision tool and more as a collectible lifestyle object.
Across these examples, the focus shifts away from image quality improvements and toward novelty, portability, and the act of capturing moments in a more playful, less structured way.
The 7 Eleven and New Balance Mini Camera fits into this evolving space where cameras are increasingly designed as accessories first and tools second.
As more devices move in this direction, it raises a question about what drives interest in these gadgets today: is it the photos they produce, or the experience of using them in the moment?
