Samyang Adds A 12mm 1:2.8 Full Frame Lens To Their Line Of Wide Prime Lenses

If the Zeiss Otus can be described as superb quality at a superb price, Samyang (known as Rokinon in the US) can be described as Good quality at a good price. This a reason that many choose those lenses as go to lenses when starting out and looking for decent quality primes and wide angles.
Today, Samyang announced the addition of a new lens to their arsenal: The Samyang 12mm 1:2.8 ED AS NCS. This is an Uber wide lens, with a 180˚ field of view on a full frame sensor and a 118˚-124.6˚on APS-C.
Wideness don’t come cheap though, the lens weighs about half a kilo. A full 180˚ field of view can yield some interesting creative options, I think it would be interesting to see this lens used by night sky shooters. (which I assume are the primary market for this lens).

Unlike some of Samyang/Rokinon announcement from earlier this year, this lens will be available for almost all the camera systems in the market including: Canon EF, Nikon F, Pentax PK ,Sony alpha, Sony E, Canon M, Fuji X, Samsung NX, 4/3 and 4/3MTF.
Here are the full specs for the lens:

Samyang should start selling this lens in November and pricing is not available yet.

with a 180˚ field of view on a crop sensor and a 118˚-124.6˚on APS-C
wouldn’t it be 180˚ on a full frame?
Obviously a mistype, they mean 180 on full frame and 118 on APS-C
Is it fisheye or rectilinear ?
non-fisheye
I just notice, there is “fish-eye” written on the lens (third photo). But I don’t know if there is any more info after this text.
It’s a Fish-Eye!

the data don’t make much sense to me
either it’s 12mm rectilinear, then it will not have 180° but ~120° on FF
or it has 180° (FF), then it’s a diagonal (?) fisheye; but of a FF body a fisheye usually is 16mm
I opt for the former, also from the shape of the lenshood
and I’m wrong ;-)
it’s a 12mm diag fish
Shut up and take my money!!! LOL $$$

I have the sigma 12-24 which is rectilinear and if I remember correctly the spec’s say 122 degrees at the 12mm end on a full frame camera which sounds more like
Love their lenses, learning curve galore but the product is stunning.

First “superb quality at a superb price” then “pricing is not available yet”. Confusing much guys?
