How much we’re ready to set the limits for a perfect shot is a topic worth discussing. Some people would risk more, some less, and it’s all perfectly okay. But sometimes, there are photo shoot ideas that just seem so wrong that I can’t find the excuse for the person who thought of them. This photographer who set the bridal dress on fire with the bride wearing it is definitely one of such cases.

I don’t know who the photographer and the model behind this photo shoot are. But this is not the first time I’ve seen a “unique” Trash the Dress idea like this. At some point, it looks like the fire has reached her skin, and I really hope she at least had fire retardant gel applied.

I guess there’s a race now who’ll make a better, crazier and more memorable bridal photo, and I can get that. But instead of leaving the bride with unique photos, I’m afraid it could also leave them with unique burn marks and scorched hairstyle. And I’m not sure they’d like that. So please, please, if you want photos like this, use Photoshop. Who cares if it’s cheating when you have a great shot and don’t endanger anyone. And dear brides, if you really want to burn that dress, you can do it after you take it off.

It’s referred to as “Brain Up The Ass” syndrome!

Unfortunately, the results were not worth the risk… I feel bad for this bride, or divorcee(?). She looks like she was excited about this shoot, but everyone has mocked it as stupidity, which probably makes her feel like a fool. In this day and age, the biggest risk is becoming the national idiot.

All for… what does this image actually communicate, beyond: superficial spectacle?

All I can think of is the copy-cat photos that will follow and that somewhere along this line someone will be injured or killed. Stupid Ass. The photo isn’t even a quality photo. What was she thinking?

Why not do this as a composite? The creative element could be captured, safely?

      and better in this case…

I guess you could say that the bride was smokin hot.

Looks like a very poorly executed session. At our trash the dress session we had two professional fire performers plus three fire safeties.

I second the composite approach. Even under controlled circumstances with sufficient support, I’d not risk it.

    A dangerous, stupid, criminal act.

I look at the shot and automatically assume it’s just photo shopped and a hoe hum photo at best and very out of focus.

Prior to the advent of women wearing pants and shorter dresses, death by fire was their number one killer. Long dresses and open flames are an invitation to disaster.

What about photoshop, you can get Better results and you avoid killing someone

Plain stupid. The same effect could be done in Ps.
