The U.S. House of Representatives arm has announced that TikTok is now banned from all House-managed devices. According to the House’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the popular app poses a “high risk due to a number of security issues.” So, the staff has to delete it from all devices managed by the House.

You might have already heard that the TikTok ban has been hitting America. According to Reuters, 19 U.S. states have banned the app use on government-managed devices. They have partially or fully blocked the app, citing concerns over potential Chinese espionage and censorship.

What’s more, the ban could extend to all U.S. states. The $1.66 trillion government funding bill that was passed last week includes a provision to ban the app on all federally managed devices, Reuters writes. The CAO spokesperson told this outlet that the House has implemented a similar policy. The staff with TikTok on their device will be contacted and asked to remove it, and future app downloads will be prohibited.
