Keeping cameras cool is often something of a challenge these days. With users demanding more and more from their cameras in terms of resolution, frame rate, bit rate, continuous stills shooting capabilities and sheer throughput, they get warmer.

Some cameras, like the Canon EOS R5C (buy here) and Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K (buy here), have built-in active cooling, but most don’t. That’s where Ulanzi’s new cooling fan steps in to keep your camera shooting for longer.

Falcam to release MagLink – A magnetic camera strap

Falcam, a sub-brand of camera accessory manufacturer Ulanzi, is preparing to announce a new camera strap. Called the MagLink, it’s unlike most camera straps out there, as this one attaches via magnets, not clips or small strap attachments. Beyond the fact that it’s a regular shoulder camera strap and attaches with magnets, no real information has been released about it other than the announcement date.

As a brand, Falcam focuses on quick-release hardware for camera rigs, including tripod and gimbal plates, camera cages and other devices that let you quickly switch your setup. A strap is new to the range, though. It’s expected to come on April 14th, just as NAB 2023 opens up in Las Vegas. DIYP will be attending the show, so we’ll be sure to head to the Ulanzi stand and find out more about it.

Smartphone vlogging has gotten quite popular over the last couple of years, but it has one big flaw. Not with all phones, but most of them. And that’s that you can’t use your high-quality rear camera if you want to see your composition. You’re stuck using the selfie camera which isn’t always that great.

Well, now, thanks to the new Ulanzi ST-09, if you use an iPhone and have an Apple Watch, you can mount the two back-to-back so that you can use the better quality rear camera on your phone and see a live view preview at the same time.
