Photobook Collective is a perfect place if you love photography books

Reading photography books is a great way to learn new things and to get inspired. If you enjoy a good book, Photobook Collective is a perfect place for you. It’s a website that’s all about photography books and you can buy them, sell them, or trade them with other members.

Photobook Collective was developed for individual enthusiasts and collectors rather than businesses. Personally, I like this concept because it makes the website more of a community than another Amazon or eBay. Also, members can buy, sell or trade books without competing against commercial sellers. Still, the website notes that there are publishers and dealers who are also individuals passionate about photobooks and have collections of their own. “As individuals, we welcome them as members,” the site reads. If you’re a self-published photographer, you can also list your photobooks and zines.

While some photography books are easy to find in book stores or online, many of them are not so easy to get anymore. They may be rare or out-of-print, or maybe you’re looking for signed, first, or limited editions. You can buy them or sell them on this website, and I believe you’ll be able to find some true gems if the community on Photobook Collective grows big enough.

It’s worth noting that this website is pictured as a global community, not only US-based. Still, count on shipping costs if you order a book from another country or sell one to someone who doesn’t live where you do.

Photobook Collective charges a $5 monthly fee for members (or $50 a year), but there are no additional costs. If you sell a book, the website doesn’t earn a commission: buyers pay you directly and you keep 100% of what you earned. So, if this sounds like a deal for you, go ahead and register here.
