If you’re a photographer in search of a job (or you’re just bored and what to try something new), here’s a tempting job offer. Australian millionaire Matthew Lepre is looking for someone to follow him around the world and take photos for his Instagram. You don’t even have to drag your gear around, your smartphone will do. And you can even bring a friend.
Lepre posted the offer to his Instagram account in a form of a marketing ploy that’s been pretty popular lately. You need to follow him on Instagram and tag a friend in the comment, so, you know, he gathers more followers. But the offer sounds pretty tempting.
First of all, no experience is needed and, as I mentioned, you don’t even need to have fancy gear. You can also bring a friend along. However, it’s not clear whether you can take them with you to all the travels, as Lepre’s Instagram post asks you to tag a friend “you want to bring on your first holiday.”
As for the expenses, all your (and your friend’s) expenses are covered. Plus, you get the annual salary of $55,000, as Lepre told Daily Mail. I’m not sure if that’s USD or AUD, though, but I’ve read comments saying that in either case, that’s too little. Where I live, an average annual salary is around $4,000 – $7,000 USD per year, you’ll understand why I find $55,000 (both USD and AUD) to be quite a lot.
But why is a millionaire hiring a complete stranger to be his personal Instagram photographer? Well, as Lepre told Daily Mail, so far he has relied on his best friend Mitch to be there to take photos on his phone. However, as his business has expanded rapidly, Mitch is now working in other areas. So, Lepre needs someone else to take over Instagram photos.
To me, this offer sounds too good to be true, and I’m usually skeptical about anything like that. Because, in my opinion, if it sounds too good to be true – it usually is. But if you have a different opinion and you’d like to try your luck as a millionaire’s personal photographer, go for it. Follow the steps from Lepre’s Instagram post above and register on his website.
