In the past few weeks, Instagram has been announcing a bunch of new features for its users. Today, they’ve unveiled yet another tool on Instagram Stories to provide Instagrammers an even more interactive experience. The emoji slider is a variation of the polling sticker for Stories that uses a sliding scale featuring an animated emoji.

Instead of giving users separate options, the slider lets how much they love or hate something by simply dragging the emoji up or down the scale. To add the slider to your story, all you have to do is look for it in the sticker tray and add it after you’ve taken a photo or video. Once you select it, you can place it anywhere on your content and write a question.

According to Instagram, you can pick just about any emoji that’s currently in their collection to use for your slider. Once you share it, your followers will be able to respond to your poll. If you see a slider in someone else’s story, drag the emoji and watch it animate as you move it across the slider. The new sticker also lets you see the results of the poll.

The emoji slider is a great way to help gauge how others feel about specific topics. With the slider, they don’t have to choose specific options to relay how they feel, anymore.  Instead of just telling you they love something, they can now share how much they love it. If you asked me, this should be available on any social media platform.

The slider, along with other updates, should now be available for both Android and iOS users.
