Finalists of 2020 Mars Petcare Comedy Pet Photo Awards remind us why everyone needs a pet

I firmly believe that pets can make anyone’s life better. If you’re still having second thoughts on whether or not to get one, Mars Petcare Comedy Pet Photo Awards 2020 is here to help you make this decision. One of the funniest photo contests has just shared its 2020 finalists to remind you why pets are awesome. Or at least they’ll make you giggle and make your day.

Considering the situation in 2020, most of us were spending more time with our pets every day. That’s one silver lining of this crazy year, right? Consequently, the competition received entries from all over the world: photographers from 81 countries submitted more than 2,000 entries for this year’s competition.

The photography competition is now in its second year. Its founders are Paul Joynson-Hicks and Tom Sullam, who are the people behind another fantastic contest we all love: Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards. And similarly to it, Comedy Pet Photo Awards also has two goals. One of them is, certainly, to put a smile on our faces. In my case, it has never failed. But another important aim of both contests is raising awareness about some important issues around us. Comedy Pet Photo Awards shows the incredibly positive impact that pets have on our lives, but also wants to raise awareness about homeless pets in the UK. They work hand in hand with Mars Petcare and support their mission of ending pet homelessness by donating 10% of the sponsorship fee and 10% of all entry fees to national pet charity Blue Cross.

The winners will be announced on 24 November and the winner will be awarded £3,000. Until then, Comedy Pet Photo Awards has shared the images that made it to the finals. Take a look at some of them below, and make sure to visit the contest’s website for more. And then, go to the nearest shelter and pick a four-legged friend of your own if you already haven’t. They could also make you become the Comedy Pet Photographer of the Year… But most of all, they’ll make your life so much better.
