Here is an address you would probably never visit unless you saw it in a DJI official tweet: dji.com/teaser. Aside from a small play of light and a black and red handle we don’t get so see much of the Gimbal.

September 9 is the date for the announcements (it may be the 10th if you live in Australia though). This date falls inside IBC’s original date, or the new online IBC showcase, so I hope its something big.

The obvious candidate is a new Ronin S2, especially if you look at some rumor sites.

The last Ronin S was announced in early 2018. This gives the mode about to and half year and DJI can use a kicker to combat the new gimbals coming from Moza, Feiyutech, Manfrotto and Zhiyun. There is no official spec yet, and we will probably not have one until the 9th, but I do wonder if the arms are carbon-fiber as the image may suggest, and if so what does this mean about its capacity.

These large white marking are a no go for shooting, they will reflect on any reflective surface as glass or cars.
Not so crazy about the new branding style from DJI, look like I’m promoting them on each shooting with the Ronin 2

So does Ronin pay me to use one of these? Since, ya know, it’ll look like a billboard advertisement when I’m walking around with that gimbal.

I shoot weddings for a living and there’s no way I could walk around with this gimbal all day and not feel like I am just a part of a commercial being shot for the gimbal instead of feeling like I am shooting a wedding.

I currently have the Moza Air 2 and it does say Moza on the tilt motor and tripod base, but that’s about it.

So, there’s this stuff called gaffer tape…

I think we are both aware of it and aware of how much money the gimbal costs and I have to put a piece of tape on it to cover the logo as to not look like a billboard? You’re missing the point.

We might know what the tape is doing but the client that paid you money to do a video shoot might think you brought a broken piece of equipment to said shoot.

But I will keep that in mind when, after a hot day of shooting in the sun, I am cleaning off the tape residue with Goo Gone.

No, you’re missing my point. I don’t care who makes my gear or what’s written on it as long as it does the job I need.

If you’ve got a problem with it, then don’t buy it. It’s that simple, really. And I said gaffer tape, not duct tape. :)
