Comedy Pet Photographer of the Year is one of those contests that reminds us that life is better with pets. If you agree, you can submit a photo of your four-legged best friend and win valuable prizes.

The 2023 Comedy Pet Photographer of the Year is only hours away, opening for entries on 16 February. To inspire you and make you laugh, the contest shares some of the 2022 images we haven’t seen so far. And yes, they’re just as cute and funny as the winning images.

“We’re delighted to open the 2023 competition, it officially marks the start of the Silly Season for us and we couldn’t be happier,” says Tom Sullam, the co-founder of Comedy Pets. “The joy and happiness that pets bring into our lives improves our wellbeing, both mentally and physically. In fact, they’re more than pets – they’re our families and our best friends, and we want to share the feel-good vibes!”

Other than sharing positive vibe and delivering a huge dose of light-hearted fun, the Comedy Pets contest seeks to support and highlight as many deserving animal welfare charities as possible. The fifth annual contest requires paying a small fee to enter, except if you’re submitting photos for the Junior category (under 16 years of age). Speaking of categories, you can submit your photos for the following ones:

  • Dogs
  • Cats
  • Horses
  • All the Other Creatures
  • Pets who look like their owners
  • Junior
  • Video

The overall winner will get a cash prize for the Best Overall Photo and be crowned the Comedy Pet Photographer of the Year. The submissions open on 16 February and close on 18 June 2023. The top Finalists will be announced on 5 July, and the overall winner and category winners will be revealed on 3 August.

“Everyone is welcome to join the party, so get snapping your amazing pets and send us your images/vids of the funniest, silliest, daftest pets ever!  We’re ready!” says Tom Sullam. So, visit the contest’s website and submit your photos. And now, sit back and enjoy these funny submissions from last year.
