Adobe is bringing its AI-powered features straight to your phone’s camera

Today at Adobe MAX, Adobe announced Photoshop Camera. It’s an app for Android and iOS devices which brings tons of creative AI-powered features straight to your smartphone camera. And believe it or not, it will be free for download.

Just like some of the new features Adobe has announced lately, the Photoshop Camera is also powered by Adobe Sensei. Using Adobe Sensei intelligence, the app can instantly recognize the subject in your photo. It can then provide recommendations and automatically apply different features at the moment of capture (i.e. portraits, landscapes, selfies, food shots). Still, the app always preserves an original shot, too. It also understands the technical content (i.e. dynamic range, tonality, scene-type, face regions) of the photo and automatically applies complex adjustments.

In addition, the app also allows you to access a curated feed of lenses made by artists and influencers, such as Billie Eilish. I guess it relies on the popular camera filters we can find everywhere nowadays, from Snapchat to Facebook Messenger.

Photoshop Camera is currently available as a preview for iOS and Android devices. It’s set to become generally available in 2020, although the exact date hasn’t been disclosed. If you’d like to read more, make sure to visit Adobe’s blog.
