We’ve heard rumors that Nikon has been working on the D7200 as a follow up to the D7100 and D7000, models and if this report from DiaryOfDennis is accurate, it looks like the company will be announce the new model at next week’s CP+ Camera And Photo Show. NikonRumors also posted on the possibility of an official announcement. Both websites are citing the same source, Novocert.ru, a Russian website which has gathered documents and information regarding the reportedly forthcoming Nikon cameras.
D7100 vs. D7200: A Side By Side Comparison
Using the leaked specs of the D7200, here’s how it will stack up against the D7100:

In addition to the D7200, Nikon is expected to announce the Nikon 1 J5 mirrorless, along with some point and shoot Coolpix models, as well.

You can read the documents via Novocert by clicking here for the D7200 and here for Nikon 1 J5, though let it be noted, the documents are in Russian.

Mmm nice specs, if the buffer is big, this gonna be good
The buffer is rumored to be 16 RAW+JPG.
That would certainly be a step in the right direction, but RAM is cheap. Nikon needs to use more across the board. More is better in this case.
nice
Where did you get these specs?
Hi Patrick, check the via link. Also, this additional link from Nikon Rumors http://nikonrumors.com/2014/12/15/nikon-d7200-rumored-specifications.aspx/
None of the links you’ve provided mention anything about 8 FPS or ISO 50 — what’s the source on that?
This has been reported more than once on Nikon Rumors as well as other resources (though I presume they are getting their info from NR, too)

Thanks. More recently, the rumors have pointed towards 6 FPS, as in the articles you linked to originally.
If the D7200 is only 6 FPS, it’s much less than a significant upgrade even if the buffer is slightly larger. I can’t image much market demand by the enthusiast. Nikon is trying to push them into their new full frame bodies anyway. I sure hope I’m wrong about the 6 FPS.
If it’s these specs, it is a good competitor to the Canon 7D Mark II. Else, (and hopefully not!) it will only be an incremental upgrade to the D7100.
Not really. Canon have really deep buffers. I have spoken with some Canon shooters at air shows and, when comparing competitive DX models, the Canons are able to keep going when the Nikons are in buffer overrun.
I miss the articulating screen from my D5100 on my D7000. I hope the 7200 does include that.
I will buy this camera as soon as it is offered for Pre Order.
Awesome the D7100 is having a price drop comming soon! I dont care for the flip out screen most of my work is using artificial light so the 100 ISO is perfect… and with the image quality of the D7100 paired with the correct lens full frame is a mute argument. YES!
Probably not a price drop. The D7200 will probably be $1100 to keep the D
7100’s price right where it is.
They just released the price. Don’t say I didn’t warn ya.
