Launched in the summer of 2019, the Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO lens turned out to be a pretty impressive piece of gear. It offers 2:1 magnification as well as infinity focus, making it a really versatile lens. And if you shoot a Canon or Nikon mirrorless, rejoice, because this lens is now available in Nikon Z and Canon RF mounts.

In our review, the Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2X proved to be pretty impressive. In fact, TIPA also awarded it as the best DSLR lens for 2020. It provides double life-sized magnification, whereas most telephoto macro lenses in the market can focus up to 1:1. As I mentioned, it can also focus to infinity, so you can use it for portraiture and other genres too.

Here are a few sample images. You can see how the lens performs for macro, but also for portraits and food photos:

The Laowa 100mm f/2.8 2x Macro is now available for orders in Nikon Z and Canon RF mounts. The price is the same as for the other options and it costs $449.
