Police Capture Fugitive Turned Model by Setting Up a Fake Photoshoot

So many things can go wrong when you’re working on a set, especially when there are more people involved; the make-up artist can call in sick, your assistant might oversleep and there’s a risk the stylist might get lost on the way to your studio, just to name a few.

I’ve heard of all these, and many other last-minute problems happening more than once, but what I’ve never encountered was a model who got arrested on his arrival to the studio.

Luckily the scout who hired the model was an undercover British police officer and the company, WOU Photography, was actually operated by the Wanted Offenders Unit – WOU (did you see what they did there?)

Ben Fiberesima modeled for tops brands such as Nike, Calvin Klein and Tom Ford while he was a fugitive in Australia, though his next outfit won’t be as glamorous.

You’re probably wondering what ITG is and why it would be reason to ban an ad. I myself was unaware of this term until recently, but turns out it can have quite an impact on the usability of your fashion photos.

Also, why does the ASA care about ITG and will the AAAA start paying attention to it as well?

So everybody, today we’re going to talk about the inner thigh gap (ITG).

As much as we’d like for our clients to just naturally know how to pose for a photograph, we have to be realistic; it’s never going to happen. Part of the portrait photographers job, in fact, is to be able to tell their subjects how to pose and present themselves in front of the camera and, just like our subjects, we’re not always the best at posing, either. Fortunately, supermodel Coco Rocha (aka “The Queen of Pose” ) has teamed up with iconic photographer, Steven Sebring, to publish the super useful book Study Of Pose.

After discovering each other through Instagram, underwater photographer, Pip Summerville, and model/self proclaimed mermaid, Meaghan Kausman, decided to take on a personal project together. Summerville wanted to take photos of Kausman posing in a swimming pool and when Fella Swim heard about the pairing, they were nice enough to offer up some free swimwear for the model to use in the photoshoot. According to a statement made by Kausman, the entire shoot was a collaboration and no payment ever changed hands.

It is not uncommon to find a photographer who is also a retoucher, it is way more rare, to find an excellent photographer who is also a great model and a talented retoucher. This is why I was so happy to have the chance to interview Renee Robyn, a Model, Photographer and Retoucher based in Alberta Canada (yes, all with capital letters).
