YoloLiv has officially announced the YoloBox Ultra (buy here), first teased at IBC 2023 in Amsterdam in September. It’s an all-in-one streaming solution offering many great features, combining the best of the YoloBox Pro (buy here) and Instream (buy here) devices.

It also brings features that neither of those units offer, such as 4K streaming and a brighter screen for use in more locations. It also provides ISO recording, allowing you to capture each incoming video source in a separate file for future editing.

Film-developing tanks have been a thing for longer than most of us have been alive. In that time, they’ve seen very little change. DRoom plans to change that with their new developing tank, which doesn’t even need a changing bag.

It’s the DRoom Film Developing Kit and it’s designed to let you develop your rolls of 35mm and 120-format film anywhere. It’s been in development for a few years and it’s currently running on Kickstarter.

Rode has announced a new microphone. It’s the Rode NT1 Signature Series (buy here), and from what I can tell, it’s largely the same as the recently released Rode NT1 5th generation (buy here). But, it has one significant difference.

There’s no USB-C port on this one, just XLR. So, you’re not going to be able to plug it into your computer. You need to go into a mixer, field recorder or audio interface. It’s also available in six different colours, and it’s $100 cheaper.

As well as the new Sony A9 III (buy here), Sony has also announced the new Sony FE 300mm f/2.8 GM OSS lens (buy here). While not exactly a pocket-sized lens, it’s incredibly lightweight for its focal length and aperture, weighing only 1.47kg.

It’s a G Master lens, meaning it sits in Sony’s top-tier lenses, and it comes with a price tag to match. That being said, it’s not too dissimilar from 300mm f/2.8 lenses of the past from other manufacturers.

This is a camera that Sony shooters have wanted for a long time, but now it’s finally here. Sony has announced the new Sony Alpha A9 III (buy here). While its resolution stays relatively low, by today’s standards, its sensor features a global CMOS shutter.

Global shutters are something that camera users from all brands have wanted ever since cameras ditched CCD sensors. The Sony A9 III has beaten everybody to the punch on bringing global shutters back, but that’s not the only trick up its sleeve.

Hollyland announced the Mars M1 Enhanced, their latest 4k wireless video transceiver monitor. It can receive up to 4k footage from 150 meters away, and it will be available soon for 499$. It’s nice to see the progress Hollyland has made since releasing the Mars 300, and this monitor puts them more in competition with monitors like the Atomos Ninja Ultra and the DJI monitor.

The Hollyland Mars M1 Enhanced is their replacement for the original Mars M1. It has a 5.5” monitor and is compatible with Mars 4k, 300 Pro, and 400 Pro components. You can also monitor it via the HollyView app which is available for iOS and Android devices.
