While out shooting a wonderful tutorial on how to capture and process seascape photography, Hawaiian photographer Raiatea Arcuri had a bit of a spill when a rogue wave took out him and his tripod.
The twenty minute tutorial is wonderful in-and-of-itself, but what has the world gawking is Arcuri’s spill at around the 5-minute mark.
As he was shooting on top of rock formation, Acuri gets a little more than he bargained for when a wave hits the rocks and splashes over the top. Arcuri can be seen holding his tripod as high as possible while the wave sweeps him backwards a dozen feet or so.
If there’s one thing I’ve learned in my time as a photographer, it’s to not mess with mother nature. Especially the ocean. I think Arcuri would agree.
