Pentax has updated its K mount lens roadmap as of November 2022. This sounds like it should be a good thing, although it’s really not. No new lenses have been added to the roadmap, not even mysterious ones with vague titles that don’t actually give anything away. Sure, there are a couple of those on there, but they were already on there in the last roadmap update.

Given recent reports of Ricoh dumping less profitable sections of its business, this does not bode well for the future of Pentax. If their own engineers don’t have anything new to report, then it could be because they’ve been told not to work on anything new. There are two updated roadmaps, with one showing every Pentax lens and one showing only full-frame lenses.

While there are still two apparently unannounced lenses on the list, these have been there for a while. But it looks like there’s nothing new on the cards besides those. All they’ve really done since the last update is take off some of the old “coming soon” lenses and replace them with the actual lenses now they’ve been announced.

With nothing all that new on the horizon, it might be time for the few remaining Pentax shooters to start looking elsewhere.

How many times will you keep writing the same inaccurate article?

You have been doing this for at least nearly six years.

    https://www.diyphotography.net/ricoh-may-considering-killing-off-pentax-brand/

And here is another article from a bit over two and a half years ago.

    https://www.diyphotography.net/pentax-is-sticking-to-dslrs-still-has-no-plans-for-a-mirrorless-camera/

I am perplexed why you keep writing things you know are inaccurate like the only third party support for Pentax is one flash controller when Phottix, Godox and Yongnuo all make compatible flashes plus all the manual only flashes that work with everything?

And of course there are all sorts of manual focus lenses from a variety of manufacturers.

    https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/products/SLR-Camera-Lenses/ci/274/N/4288584247?filters=fct_a_focus-type_5738%3Amanual-focus-only%2Cfct_lens-mount_3442%3Apentax-k

And in regards to the roadmap, you just wrote an article about a new Pentax lens that was only on the roadmap for a couple of months before it was introduced.

    https://www.diyphotography.net/ricoh-launches-newly-designed-hd-pentax-d-fa-macro-100mm-f2-8ed-all-weather-lens/

So why are you saying the lack of any new lenses showing up on this particular roadmap means no new lenses are in the planning stage?

Diyphotography has some nice tutorials and diy projects that I have done and will continue to look for in the future.

But this type of editorial content of phenomenal negative value that you keep insisting on writing only demeans yourself and the site.

If you’re happy with your Pentax buying decisions, why do you care what I think?

You’re right. This was a great site when it all about DIY projects and tutorials.
