First full images of the Canon 5D Mark IV leaked

It appears the first full images of the actual 5D Mark IV body have been leaked. There’s a couple of visual changes between it and its predecessor. The most obvious being that the “Mark XX” badge has been moved. This has allowed Canon to move the shutter release cable socket around to the front.
The eagle eyed amongst you may also spot that the microphone grill seems to have disappeared. It doesn’t appear on the other photos, though. Not that an internal microphone is all that great, but I do wonder how good the sound will be for syncing purposes.

There’s also an extra button on the back, which is presumably their new “locking switch”. Beyond those, it appears pretty much identical to the 5D Mark III.

One thing I saw when I looked at the top down view is that the prism appears to be significantly larger on the Mark IV than the Mark III.

We can expect to possibly hear something from Canon about it next week. August 25th is the date rumoured for a while now. Hopefully, this image leak means that whether the exact date is accurate or not, we’re not far from an official announcement.
Have you already decided that you’re getting a 5D Mark IV no matter what? Are you sticking with your 5D Mark III? Or are you just going to wait and see? Let us know in the comments.

dual pixel raw files. mhm…
an RRGGGGBB pattern. that would mean LR and other RAW converter can not demosaice it right now. thought DPP sure would be able to convert it.
what will it mean…. higher than 30MP resolution or better DR?
it sure will mean bigger RAW files.
the prism is larger.. but the camera has wifi and GPS.
so maybe that´s occuping the extra space.
I still own a 5D MKII and I’m happy with it. It still works good. :)
good too know .. how could i have slept tonight without your insightful comment?
I’m so happy that you aren’t one of the guys who reacts sarcastic on my comment/reply on the question of the autor of this article:

You are a very wise man. Love you.
“looks exactly like the mark I ii and iii”

You actually can spot three little spots beneath “Mark IV”, I presume there it is the mic.
Your eagle eyes are better than mine! :)
Hmmm good one. But 5 vs 3 spots… :)
Time will tel how good it wil be. Maybe we can find other 3 on the other side for stereo…. :D
EDIT: No, not found… :)
Time will tell that 3 dots are at the same sound crappyness quality level than 5, but perhaps the weather proof will be better.
What I did noted is the two kind of cards she will carry, bets on speed of the sd slot?
Holding tight with my mark III for now. I need to see the true differentiation between the 2 before I decide.
I have the feeling that the shutter release connector has its position moved due that the USB is now micro-b 3.0 or perhaps type B 3.0 (larger than 2.0 found in 5Dmk3).
Not worth it. I’ll stick with my 5D MkIII and 6D.
