Edelkrone has launched SurfaceONE, their new 2-axis motion control system. It allows you to easily get straight, curved (targeted) and panning shots, and shoot timelapse with any of these modes. You control the motion, intervals and more through your smartphone, and the company says it’s “the world’s smartest 2-axis motion control system.”
SurfaceONE lets you control the motion through an app available for Android and iOS. Soon, they expect to launch the Apple Watch support, too. You can easily target the subject no matter how far it is, use the system as an endless slider, or get ideal automatic pans with angular speed adjustment.
If you want to shoot timelapse, Edelkrone points out it’s “fast and effortless.” You can use any of the movements and combine it with the timelapse shooting. Using the app, you can set the speed, shooting interval and other parameters.
SurfaceONE has a flexible tilting head, which lets you fine tune the height, pan, and tilt of the camera, while it keeps it balanced and stable. And last, but not least, it has a super-silent motor.
You can check out more details on Edelkrone’s website, where you can also order the SurfaceONE for your camera, at the price of $689.99. Also, check out their YouTube channel for some helpful videos and demonstration of the product.

Price… just too much…
On my wish list..but too pricey for me at moment.
Only for flat level surfaces.
Edelkrone – beautiful engineering, interesting products, for prices you can’t pay. :P
That’s the first thing I saw, too, Stuart. AWESOME if you have a flat and level surface to move on. Pretty sure I wouldn’t spend $700 on something I couldn’t (as easily) use for outdoor panos. But, that’s just my style. Would certainly be worth twice that for someone else…
Agree, it’s pricey!
A Roomba for DSLRs!
