Pinhole photography could be making a comeback. British camera brand Chroma Camera has released its second pinhole camera, the CubeFF (Full Frame). This 35mm camera follows the brand’s previous pinhole camera, the Baby Cube.
The 24×24 Baby Cube was launched in 2021, and according to Kosmo Foto, people have been asking for a full-frame version since then.

The CubeFF can shoot both full-frame and half-frame (18×24) images due to a drop-in frame insert which can be loaded between rolls of film.
“The shutter is a newly designed open/closed rotating magnetic disk, with an easily accessible trigger on the front plate,” says Chroma Camera’s Steve Lloyd. “The CubeFF retains the 49mm magnetic filter ring from the Baby Cube, along with two strong, grippy aluminium wind/rewind knobs and an integrated bubble level on the top plate.”

The CubeFF has a laser-drilled pinhole and a focal length of 30mm. It features the equivalent aperture of f/150 and is optimised for ISO 200 or 400 film.

Each camera is hand-built to order in Lloyd’s Liverpool workshop in the UK and can be ordered from the Chroma website for £125.
