Hold onto your vintage camera straps, folks, because Light Lens Lab just dropped what might be the coolest thing since sliced film: their brand-new 75mm f/2 SP-II lens is officially moving from prototype limbo into full-on production.

Yes, that’s right, after much tinkering, testing, and likely some very intense optical debates (we imagine), the 75mm f/2 SP-II has graduated from “maybe someday” to “coming soon to a camera bag near you.”

Keeping the Vintage Dream Alive

What’s the big deal? Well, this nifty little piece of glass carries on the SP-II series’ love affair with classic optics. Think smoother out-of-focus bokeh, dreamy tones, and all the character that makes analog shooters swoon, while still keeping it fully compatible with modern Leica M-mount cameras.

Light Lens Lab says this lens blends vintage soul with contemporary clarity, sporting an 8-element design that’s been tweaked for today’s full-frame digital sensors. Wide open at f/2, it’s like whispering sweet cinematic nothings into your JPEGs, then, stop it down and it gets crisp enough to make landscape photographers weep with joy.

Even better? Pre-orders kick off March 1, 2026, with expected shipping around March 20. The Light Lens Lab 75mm f/2 SPII will be offered at the following MSRPs (excluding taxes and duties): USD $749-Aluminum Chrome and USD $799-Aluminum Black Paint.

In a world where every photographer seems to chase the next sharpest, flashiest piece of glass, the 75mm SP-II is a cheeky reminder that sometimes nostalgia, when served through brass, glass, and tactile focus rings, still reigns supreme. So, pack your bags, pixel peepers: vintage vibes are coming in hot!

Enjoy.
