DJI has announced a new DL-mount lens for aerial filmmakers. It’s the DJI DL 75mm f/1.8 ($1,299), a wide-aperture, medium telephoto lens for picking out subjects at some distance. It offers the widest aperture and longest focal length in the DJI DL lineup.
DJI DL 75mm f/1.8
The DJI DL 75mm f/1.8 lens is the widest and longest lens in DJI’s current DL-mount lens lineup. It allows you to get a different perspective on your scene compared to the typical wide-angle lenses we see on drones. It lets you pick out details and feel much closer to the action from the sky.
At f/1.8, it’s a very bright lens. This might make it difficult to get cinematic-looking footage on a bright day. But a 55mm filter thread on the front allows you to stick on a polariser or some ND to help reduce the incoming light for more reasonable shutter speeds.
DJI says it offers a high level of sharpness with minimal chromatic aberration, and the sample footage above suggests this is the case. It comes supplied with pan and tilt-axis counterweights, as well as a balancing ring and lens protector, all in a storage case.

What is DL mount?
DL mount is DJI’s proprietary lens mount. The DJI DL mount was introduced with the DJI Zenuse X7 ($1,749) in 2017. This Super35mm camera was designed to be paired with the DJI Inspire 2 ($5,299), but the DL-mount exists on more of DJI’s devices today, including the Zenmuse X9-8K ($3,099) used with the DJI Ronin 4D ($6,799+).
DJI isn’t the only company making DL mount lenses. Laowa has released several lenses for DJI’s DL mount at the opposite end of the focal length spectrum to DJI’s newest. Sirui has taken things in a slightly different direction. They, too, offer a 75mm lens for DL mount (and 35mm and 50mm), but their DL mount lenses are anamorphic.
