Insta360

If you follow camera industry news closely, you know that product leaks rarely come with press releases. Sometimes they arrive quietly, tucked into a casual photo shared by an executive who may not realize how closely photographers are looking.

That appears to be the case with Insta360, after a recently surfaced image shared by the company’s CEO on Chinese social media site Weibo sparked speculation that two unreleased Insta360 cameras are already in the wild.

For creators who track action cameras and 360-degree imaging, this kind of moment matters because it offers a glimpse into where the brand may be heading next.

The Image That Started the Speculation

The discussion began after a photo circulated online showing Insta360 CEO JK Liu holding what appears to be an unfamiliar camera.

Observant viewers quickly noticed that the device does not match any existing Insta360 model. More intriguingly, the same image seems to show a second, different camera partially visible in the frame.

As reported by The New Camera, the image suggests that Insta360 could be working on at least two new products simultaneously. Neither device has been officially announced, and there has been no confirmation from the company, but the details visible in the photo were enough to trigger close analysis from the camera community.

A portable 360-degree camera offering high-quality 4K video and photo capabilities, perfect for action shots and dynamic environments.

What Appears Different From Current Models

One of the cameras appears to have a more compact, squared-off body compared to the Insta360 X3 or X4. The lens placement and overall proportions do not align neatly with the company’s current consumer lineup.

The second camera, seen less clearly, seems to feature a different lens configuration altogether, suggesting it may serve a different purpose or audience.

If you are familiar with Insta360’s product strategy, this is notable. The company has historically split its lineup between all-in-one 360 cameras, modular systems like the One RS, and more specialized devices such as the Go series.

The apparent differences between the two teased cameras could indicate a continuation of that multi-track approach rather than a single flagship replacement.

Accidental Leak Or Intentional Soft Reveal

It is difficult to say whether this reveal was truly accidental. Tech companies are well aware that even a background object in a photo can be dissected frame by frame.

At the same time, executives often share behind-the-scenes moments without the intention of starting a product rumor cycle.

From an objective standpoint, there is no concrete evidence that Insta360 meant to tease these devices. There are no captions hinting at upcoming launches, no follow-up posts, and no official statements.

Still, the fact that two unfamiliar cameras appear in one image on Weibo has led many to wonder if internal testing or early production units are already underway.

Waiting for Confirmation

Are these updates incremental improvements, or do they represent a shift in design or functionality? Could one of the devices target higher-end users, while the other remains focused on casual creators?

At this stage, everything remains speculative. Insta360 has not acknowledged the image or commented on the rumored cameras. Until official announcements or regulatory filings surface, there is no reliable way to confirm timelines, features, or intended markets.

Still, this moment serves as a reminder of how closely the photography community watches the details. A single image can spark weeks of discussion, not because of hype, but because photographers are constantly evaluating what tools might shape their future work.

For now, all eyes remain on Insta360 to see if this quiet reveal turns into something more concrete.
