Zeiss Batis 18mm 2

Today, Zeiss has announced its newest Sony E-mount full-frame lens, the Batis 18mm f/2.8.

Designed alongside Zeiss’ 25mm and 85mm Batis lenses, the 18mm includes a linear autofocus motor as well as the signature OLED display for depth of field info and focus distance.

Inside, Zeiss includes seven ‘special’ glass elements, including four aspherical elements. Zeiss’ T anti-reflective coating also helps to ensure minimized ghosting and chromatic aberrations.

The lens isn’t specifically weatherproof, but Zeiss does say it’s dust and moisture resistant.
