After unlocking link stickers for everyone, Instagram has now come up with another way to make its users more engaged. A new sticker will now enable everyone to become a part of your Story and turn it into a public thread.

From now on when choosing a sticker for your Story, you’ll see a new option reading “Add Yours.” When you select it, it will create public threads in Stories. “With custom prompts and public responses, you can share the sticker and see who responds to it in their own Stories,” Instagram explains on Twitter.

For Instagram, the point of this new feature is obviously getting users more engaged. Your Story will prompt people to publish their own responses, and you’ll be able to see them in their own Stories. This way, you’ll also find more people to follow, and probably spend more time in the app.

The feature has already been rolled out globally, and I’m seeing it on all my Instagram accounts as well. However, I’m not exactly sure how I would find it useful. Maybe I’ll play with it over the next few days, just to try and see what its point is for creators.
