IBC 2025 is almost here, and at DIYP, we are getting ready to bring you all the latest news from Europe’s largest imaging and broadcasting show. From the big-name brands you already know to the exciting newcomers you’ll want on your radar, we’ll have exclusive interviews, hands-on gear demos, and insider insights that you won’t get anywhere else.
We’ll be looking at cutting-edge cameras, innovative accessories, and the latest tech shaping the future of photography and videography, including all the AI gossip. We’ll have it all covered, so you can get a front-row look at everything IBC 2025 has to offer. Here’s what to expect:
Interviews
We’ve already got an exciting line-up of brands and people we’ll be talking to. And no, we aren’t just going to be helping sell the latest piece of gear. We’re looking to dive into some of the more interesting and controversial aspects, such as the latest AI technology that is integral in so many of the newest photography and video advances.
Among our busy lineup, we will be talking to Viltrox about their latest suite of lenses for both APS-C and full-frame cameras. Shure will be telling us all about new wireless recording receivers and mics, and Telesin about their innovative iPhone 17 Master Grip which will turn your phone into a comfortable ergonomic device that fits perfectly into your hand. Saramonic will be detailing their K9 mics and TC-NEO timecode generators. As usual, we will also be stopping at the SmallRig booth to see what’s new there.
The Brands you Love and New names
We’ll be catching up at the booths with some of our well-loved brands too, such as Atomos, Laowa and Colbor. Our eyes are keenly fixed upon Blackmagic’s booth, where we hope to show you their ground-breaking 17K VR immersive cine camera, the Ursa.
Predictions for IBC 2025
We love a good guessing game as much as anyone, and many of the camera brands are keeping very coy about the new products that will be unveiled at IBC later this week. However, we can tell you what we know so far.
Canon today revealed a new cine camera, the EOS C50. They’ve been teasing us with images for the last few weeks. So we expect to see the new camera in its full glory at IBC. Other new Canon cameras that could be shown are the R7 Mark II and the almost-legendary-it’s-taking-so-long R6 Mark III. But that’s just speculation for now.
Sony is also teasing a new cine camera. However, unlike Canon’s, this one is aimed at a different market, namely a 12K one! Apparently, it is the Sony FX8, but one thing we do know for sure is that it’s bound to be interesting.
Not wanting to be outdone, Nikon will be sharing a booth with RED at IBC 2025. They will be showcasing the latest RED cine cameras with the new Nikon mount. There’s also a rumour that Nikon will unveil the Zr cine camera too.
Of course, IBC is not just about cameras. There are plenty of lenses, lighting and audio innovations as well. Laowa will almost certainly have a lineup of not just one, but six brand new lenses, and Camera Corps will be showing off it’s new underwater camera system. We don’t know if they’ll have a blow-up pool or hot tub to show all its capabilities, but we can hope!
You can be sure to expect some intriguing surprises at IBC, and once again, the merging of imagery with the latest tech will be fascinating. That much we can guarantee!
