Chinese lens manufacturer TTArtisan has just announced a 25mm f/2 lens. It’s designed for APS-C cameras, but you can use it with your full-frame camera in crop mode as well. And the best thing is: it only costs $55. So, if you’ve been thinking about getting a 25mm lens, this could be a perfect choice to see whether it’s for you at all. But let’s check out what it has to offer first.

The TTArtisan 25mm f/2.0 comes in seven mounts: Sony E, Fuji X, Canon EOS-M, Micro Four Thirds, Nikon Z, Canon R, and Leica L. Depending on your camera’s crop factor, you get the equivalent focal length between 37.5 and 50mm. The maximum lens aperture is f/2, which isn’t all that bad for a super-cheap lens like this, and it goes down to f/16.

As for the build, the lens contains seven elements in five groups and features a 7-blade aperture. With the weight around 170g, it’s pretty lightweight as well. On the minus side, it only has manual focus. But hey, for $55, I guess you can’t expect more than that.

Here are the specs:

  25mm  Maximum aperture  F2
  Focal length
  0.25m  Minimum aperture  F16

The TTArtisan 25mm f/2.0 is only available on the company’s website for now. But since they sell on Amazon and B&H too, I believe that the lens will also be available in those online stores soon.
