Siena International Photo Awards (SIPA) recently announced the winners of the 2020 contest. They were selected among thousands of images from all over the world, and across ten categories. But what all of them have in common is that they’re emotional, inspiring, and sometimes devastating. We have chosen some of the best images from this year’s SIPA, and you can check them out below.

The overall winner of the contest is French Photographer Greg Lecour with his stunning shot Frozen Mobile Home. It depicts a giant iceberg surrounded by crabeater seals. The jury selected the winner from tens of thousands of photos submitted by photographers from 156 countries. I believe it was quite a task!

Siena International Photography Awards is followed by an annual photography festival. Luca Venturi, the founder and art director of the festival, said:

“A few years ago we started this adventure in order to bind a uniquely beautiful and historic city like Siena with a photo festival and contest: The Siena International Photo Awards. In these six years our project has become, year by year, a highly anticipated event appreciated worldwide”.

“This success,” Venturi adds, “is confirmed by the numbers and by the continued participation of the internationally renowned professionals who have chosen to contribute to our project, thus placing us among the major photographic contests in the world.”

You can check out more awarded images on SIPA’s website. Also, make sure to follow news and the “Photo of the Day” section on SIPA’s Facebook page. And now, take a look at some of the photos we chose.
