VSCO Drops the Price on All Seven of Its Film Packs to Honor Its 4 Year Anniversary
It’s been exactly four years since Visual Supply Co. (VSCO) launched its very first VSCO Film® film emulation preset pack.
Since then, they’ve added six more, created a collection of smartphone apps and even developed an artist grant ‘that provides artists the resources to pursue their creative vision, no matter what the medium.’
To honor its 4 year anniversary, VSCO has decided to drop the price of all seven of its film packs to $59, almost 50% off what they usually sell for at the time of release.
Controversial Mapplethorpe Photograph “Man In Polyester Suit” Just Sold For $478,000 At Auction
The notorious photograph, Man In A Polyester Suit, taken in 1980 by photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, sold at a Sotheby’s (New York) auction on Wednesday for $478,000. The sale makes the photograph one of the most expenisve photos ever sold, though it’s still quite a ways off from list topper, Rhein II which sold for a whopping $4.3M.
As some of you may recall, Man In A Polyester Suit–a NSFW photo which shows a man wearing a three piece suit with his penis out has had a troubled history. He was acquitted in 1990.[Read More…]
Sony FE 70-200mm Goes for $12 on eBay
I am not really sure what is it with Sony and ridiculous prices. About a month ago they were selling the AR7 for $200 (and then they took it back for most buyers, but some got lucky), and now the Sony FE 70-200mm which usually sells for $1500, appears on eBay for $12.
The seller, getitdigital claims that the lens is coming from the US and has a 3 years warranty. The seller had 30 lenses for sale and now they are unsurprisingly out of stock. Who knows maybe it will be back…
Disappointing, But Expected: $200 Sony a7R Orders Will Not Be Fulfilled
Sony’s online store probably received a record-breaking amount of visits yesterday after word broke out that several cameras and lenses were listed for as low as $200.
Expecting the orders to be cancelled, many people placed them anyway in hope that the company will honor the listed prices and absorb the price difference.
In a rare incident were a camera company actually met its customers’ expectations, Sony has started cancelling orders.
It seems like PayPal orders have not been cancelled so far.
Was Sony’s Site Hacked? Listed DSLR Cameras and Lenses Up To 90% Off
Initial reports stated Sony’s online store has the a7R listed for just $199.99 instead of $2,299.99, leading people to believe that someone had made a mistake.
A deeper look, however, reveals that several other products, including the a77II were listed for ridiculously low prices.
With so many product prices being slashed, it seems increasingly likely that a (very) disgruntled worker or a hacker attack is behind this.
The largest price reduction was on the 500mm f/4 telephoto lens which was advertised for just under $1,300 – a full $11,700 off its regular price!
Most of the prices have been corrected, while others are busy being fixed, but will Sony fulfill the orders that have already been placed? [Read More…]
