Along with a new MFT lens, Olympus has also announced the OM-D E-M1 Mark III camera. It’s a successor of the OM-D E-M1 Mark II, released in 2016. But other than improved in-body image stabilization and dedicated AF mode for the starry sky, this camera doesn’t seem to have any major improvements.
Sony A7 has officially been marked as discontinued
Six years after it was first introduced, Sony A7 has now been marked as discontinued. The concept lives on in its later iterations, but the original A7 is no longer available through major online camera retailers.
First look at the Sigma FP pocket camera
Granted, it’s not much of a pocket camera once you stick one of those L mount Art series lenses on it, but the Sigma FP is still a pretty tiny camera. It represents Sigma’s first L mount camera in the Sigma/Leica/Panasonic alliance announced at Photokina 2018. It’s not quite the full-frame Foveon beast we hoped for, but it still looks pretty good.
We caught up with Sigma at PhotoPlus 2019 to find out more about the Sigma FP and what it can do.
Panasonic S1H becomes the first Netflix-approved mirrorless camera
The Panasonic S1H is a full-frame mirrorless camera aimed primarily at movie shooters. Thanks to its stellar video features, it has made it into the “big league.” It’s the first mirrorless camera to be certified by Netflix. In other words, it’s the only mirrorless camera Netflix allows to be used as a primary camera on productions. And since it’s on the same list with high-end movie cameras, it’s also the cheapest among them.
Sigma FP is ready for preorders, shipping in late October for $1,899
Sigma FP was announced back in July, but without the expected retail price. But now the price and availability have finally been disclosed. The new full-frame L-mount mirrorless camera from Sigma comes with lots of improvements and changes over the previous models. So, the price is substantially higher compared to the previous models.
Nikon Z50 promotional images leak ahead of official announcement
It’s not quite official, but almost. Nokishita has posted a couple of Nikon Z50 promotional images to Twitter ahead of an official announcement from Nikon. When images like these leak, an actual announcement is almost certainly within a few days away.
Nokishita leaked a not great Z50 photo earlier along with the new 16-50mm APS-C Z mount lens, although it did show something of the camera’s form, which isn’t all that different from the “Z1” photo which got out several months ago. It looks like I called it on the APS-C Z Mount mirrorless, too (despite the “FX” logo on the body).
Here’s the first leaked photo of the upcoming Nikon Z50 and 16-50mm lens
If the recent reports are true, we are only a day away from the official announcement of Z50, an APS-C mirrorless camera from Nikon. Some specs and expected prices have already leaked, and there’s now the first photo of the camera paired with the upcoming 16-50mm f/3.5-6.3 lens.
Nikon Z50 and three new lenses coming this week, here are the expected prices
According to some recent reports, we’re only two days away from the official announcement of the Nikon Z50 and two new Z lenses. And it looks like the Nikon Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct lens will join the party, too. The latest reports say they will all be launched together, and we now have the expected prices of the upcoming gear.
Sigma’s L-mount fp mirrorless camera price to be $1,899 according to their website source code
There’s something to be said for rooting around in the HTML source of manufacturer websites when new product pages pop up. And certainly there seems to be something to it when it comes to Sigma. One eagle-eyed Redditor by the name of jadware spotted that there was a $1,899 price tag embedded right in the HTML source for the product page on the Sigma website, despite not being shown on the page visibly.
