Good news for Sony shooting team will make portrait photographers especially happy: Sony has announced two new prime lenses for their full frame mirrorless cameras. One is Sony FE 100mm f/2.8 STF GM OSS, and the other is Sony FE 85mm f/1.8. In addition, they have also announced a new wireless radio flash, Sony HVL-F45RM.
FE 100mm f/2.8 STF GM OSS
This lens is designed for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. However, you can use ii on APS-C models, where it will provide a 150mm equivalent focal length. It incorporates an apodization element that improves the quality of bokeh. Combined with rounded 11-blade diaphragm, it makes bokeh smoother and more rounded. Here are some sample shots:
The lens is designed to reduce color fringing, chromatic aberrations and peripheral highlight distortion due to vignetting. One aspherical element controls spherical aberrations for improved clarity and sharpness. A Nano AR Coating reduces surface reflections, flare, and ghosting.
This lens provides quick, quiet, and precise autofocus. Also, if features SteadyShot image stabilization for sharper images when hand-holding the camera at slower shutter speeds. Last but not least, it’s dust-, moisture- and cold-resistant, so it takes harsh conditions pretty well. let’s take a look at the specs:
