Pentax is taking a serious step forward with its latest announcement that it’s developing a full frame K-mount DSLR.
Not much is known about the camera, but according to DPReview it will be compatible with DA lenses using a crop function and Pentax shooters will be able to get their hands on it by the end of 2015.
Sports and wildlife shooter won’t have to wait that long to get new gear with two telephoto zoom lenses being released in March.
The newly announced 70-200mm f/2.8 and 150-450mm f/4.5-5.6 lenses don’t offer any groundbreaking features, but will strengthen the company’s lens lineup.
Boasting 13 and 21 weather resistant seals, respectively, the lenses should uphold Pentax’s great AW reputation.

One response to “Pentax To Release A Full Frame DSLR And Two Full Frame Zoom Lenses”
Long overdue. Ricoh/Pentax is a much better value for photo enthusiasts due to the weatherproofing and backwards compatibility with all those K-Mount lenses. If Ricoh fixes a couple of things and prices a FF competitively, Pentax could be back in the game for the enthusiasts and perhaps the pros. The question is if Ricoh aggressively prices the camera like the 645Z, or just sucks out as much profits as possible given the pent-up demand from current Pentax owners. I imagine the 36MP SONY sensor?
