“I’ll have a whatever’s on tap and two stacks of Ilford paper please”.
I know this is not what you expect to hear in a bar. Consider this though: darkrooms are being less common, there is a renaissance for film and everyone loves beer. So why not combine a darkroom with a bar.
And this is just what The Darkroom is aiming at doing. According to the Borderrstan, the bar, located in 207 Florida Ave, Washington DC, submitted an application that states that the business
[will be] a venue dedicated to building community through the art of photography
But it gets better, according to the application, the bar plans to have “a working darkroom, photography studio, bar and art gallery“.
I can see how this concept cnaq become something of greatness. Both by making a darkroom available to anyone who wants to experiment, or use one. But also as a place of gathering to old film lovers.
