The new Leica M10 is here! The latest addition to the loved M-system lineup is available for preorders, and “Its unique balance of heritage and technical innovation embodies the essence of everything that is truly important for photography.”

This is the thinnest digital M camera of all time, with improved performance and more intuitive handling. It comes with an ISO setting dial on top, along with some other new and interesting features.

ISO setting dial on top

The newest addition to the M series is the ISO setting dial on top of the camera, featured in the new Leica M10. This is the first time photographers can control all the essential shooting parameters using physical controls, and not a menu. This means you can set up focusing, aperture, shutter speed, and now ISO too – even while the camera is off.

Improved sensor

The M10 features 24 MP, full-frame CMOS sensor developed especially for this camera. It enables huge dynamic range, impressive contrast rendition and sharpness, and finest resolution of details.

Expanded ISO range

Because of the new sensor design, the ISO range has expanded. It allows values from 100 to 50,000, along with the improved noise characteristics at higher ISO settings. This makes Leica M10 perform well even in poor light conditions.

Improved viewfinder

The new Leica M10 is equipped with the improved field of view, enlarged by 30 percent. The magnification factor has been increased to 0.73. The optimum distance of the eye from the viewfinder eyepiece has also been increased to make the viewfinder much more comfortable to use.

Wi-Fi

Leica M10 is the first M-Camera with integrated Wi-Fi connectivity. It enables you to transfer the images to your mobile device using a wireless connection, and share the online. You can also download the Leica M-App to control remote the Leica M10 using your mobile device.

Fast continuous shooting

The M10 enables continuous shooting at 5 frames per second at full resolution.

Leaner and more intuitive handling

Minimalistic design of the camera body makes Leica M10 more intuitive and enables easier handling. As they say from Leica, “Every single component and every technical solution in the Leica M10 concentrates uncompromisingly on photography”. Thus, there are only three buttons at the back of the camera: Review, Live-View and Menu.

Leica M10 is the slimmest digital Leica so far, with only 33.75mm depth. It’s also lightweight and compact, easy to use and convenient. It’s also durable, effortlessly resisting light showers, dust and bad weather.

Leica M10 will be available in two colors: black and silver. It’s available for preorders from January 19th, 2017 and comes with a price tag of $6,595.00. You can find out more on Leica’s website, and take a look at some sample images:
