Adobe has launched a new free web application, Adobe Content Authenticity, designed to safeguard your work and provide you with attribution for your content. The app utilizes Adobe’s Content Credentials, the system for identifying AI-generated content – something like a “nutrition label,” but for digital content.

Content Credentials is a way for creators to share information about themselves and their content creation process. According to Adobe, this should increase transparency in the digital landscape. As concerns about misinformation and AI-generated deepfakes escalate, Content Credentials have become increasingly important. It’s a valuable tool for publishers to provide consumers with crucial information about digital content, aiding in its trustworthiness assessment. This new web app from Adobe aims to fully unlock the potential of Content Credentials, enabling you to protect your work from misuse and build a more transparent digital ecosystem.

Adobe cites a recent study that revealed that 91% of creators are seeking reliable methods to attach attribution to their work, and over half (56%) are worried about their content being used to train generative AI models without their consent.

Key benefits of the Content Credentials web app

Here’s why the new app is useful and what you can expect from it.

  • Easy application of content credentials: You can effortlessly apply Content Credentials to your digital work, including images, audio, and video files. You have control over the information included in Content Credentials, such as your name, website, and social media accounts. This helps you receive attribution for your work and protects it from unauthorized use.
  • Generative AI training and usage preference: You can use Content Credentials to signal if you don’t want your content used by or to train other generative AI models. Adobe is actively working to drive industry-wide adoption of this preference.
  • Viewing and inspecting content credentials: The web app includes tools to recover and display content Credentials associated with content, including edit history when available.
  • Durable content credentials: Content Credentials applied with the web app remain securely connected to your work throughout the content lifecycle.

Availability

A free, public beta of the Adobe Content Authenticity web app will be available in the first quarter of 2025. You can learn more about the web app here, and sign up to be notified when the beta is available.
