Nanlite has announced two new models of light. They’re the Nanlite FC-60B (buy here) and the Nanlite FC-120B (buy here). As the names suggest, they’re LED lights, offering up to 60W and 120W of output. That in itself is nothing new.
What is new, however, is that these are designed to be portable. As well as offering the more traditional V-Mount power option, the two new Nanlite LED lights also support USB Power Delivery (USB-PD). Run them from a power bank or charger.
Nanlite FC-60B/120B – V Mount or USB-PD
The Nanlite FC-60B and 120B slot into an interesting spot in the market. They are small, compact lights that can be powered by USB-C and put out a lot of light. We’ve seen Zhiyun tackle this area a lot recently, and now it’s Nanlite’s turn.
Here, as well as the AC adapter, we have two portable power options. The first is the traditional V-Mount battery while the other is USB-PD Power Banks and chargers. Additionally, the FC-60B also supports Sony NP-F style batteries.

Nanlite hasn’t specified the exact voltages and currents you need to watch out for, but they do say you need a USB-PD power bank or battery capable of at least 30W (20v @ 1.5A). Where the maximum sits is currently unclear, but I wouldn’t expect to get anywhere near 120W out of the FC-120B on most power banks and chargers.
Remote control via 2.4GHz, Bluetooth or DMX Control
These “palm-sized” lights utilise Nanlite’s FM modifier mount for an included reflector. There are also optional Fresnel lenses and softboxes available for the FM mount. But included with the light is an FM to Bowens mount adapter, so you can still use all the Bowens modifiers you may already own.
The lights are lightweight, with the FC-60B and FC-120B weighing 700g and 980g, respectively. Each single-light kit comes with its own lightweight, shockproof, semi-rigid, and durable foam case. Throwing a few of these in the car won’t take up a lot of space, and carrying them shouldn’t feel like lugging bricks.

Both lights can be remotely controlled wirelessly over 2.4GHz and Bluetooth from the smartphone app. For more permanent setups, you can also control the lights over wired DMX. Each light has 12 built-in effects, with a CCT range from 2700-6500K and 96/98 CRI/TLCI rating.
