Meike recently announced its new 85mm. medium telephoto lens for Canon EF mount. Unlike their previous lenses, this particular model is the first to incorporate an autofocus function.

Meike’s 85mm. lens features a sturdy all-metal body and includes a manual focus mode. The glass also has a multi-layer coating for better color reproduction. The aperture range is between f/1.8 to f/22 with a maximum magnification of 1:1.8.

Meike has built a reputation for their affordable lenses in the past few years, and this autofocus lens is undoubtedly a great addition. They haven’t announced the price yet, but it shouldn’t be more expensive than its more established competitors. For a company that’s known to sell manual focus lenses for less than $300.00, it’s safe to say that their newest offering would also be relatively budget-friendly.

At this time, we remain uncertain whether Meike will also offer options for Nikon and Sony. Their website initially listed the lens to be compatible with Nikon, Canon, and Sony. However, it now states that it’s only available for Canon EF. Hopefully, we’ll have more news regarding this lens in the next few days.
