Japanese Photographer Spends 5 Years Creating Incredible Mini-Dioramas Every Day

I love miniature photography, especially when it’s as creative as Tatsuya Tanaka’s. The way the photographer can look at single piece of pasta and think “water slide!” or a dish sponge and think “rock climbing!”, it’s such an outside-the-box way of looking at the small, everyday objects most of us don’t pay much more attention to than is required.
What’s truly special about Tanaka’s work is he’s been at it every day for the past five years. As the foundation for the artist’s Miniature Calendar, Tanaka creates a new miniature world for each day on the calendar. His imagination is endless. Take a look at a handful of the inventive little scenes here on DIYP, then check out Tanaka’s website (which really is the coolest calendar), Facebook, and Instagram for more.
